Carbon Fiber Tennis Racket Overview

A carbon fiber tennis racket combines low structural weight with the ability to engineer frame stiffness, balance and strength through controlled composite layups.

Unlike standard retail rackets, our focus is on custom tennis racket manufacturing. The racket frame can be developed around your target dimensions, player level, weight range, stiffness, appearance and brand requirements.

Carbon fiber layups can use unidirectional carbon in structural areas together with woven carbon layers where appearance or additional reinforcement is required.

Tennis Racket Dimensions & Specifications

Tennis racket dimensions can be developed around an existing sample, technical drawing or completely new OEM design.

Specificatie Typical OEM Options
Racket Length Junior sizes from approximately 19–26 in; adult designs commonly around 27 in; custom available
Tennis Racket Head Size Approximately 95–110 in² or project-specific geometry
Racket Weight Target weight developed according to racket size and performance requirements
Saldo Head-light, even balance or head-heavy
Frame Construction Carbon fiber composite / customized hybrid composite
Koolstoflaagopbouw UD carbon, woven carbon and project-specific ply orientations
String Pattern 16×19, 18×20 or custom pattern
Handgreepmaat Multiple adult and junior grip dimensions
Oppervlak Matte, gloss, painted or exposed carbon fiber
Merkopbouw Logo, graphics, decals and private-label packaging

Final dimensions and construction are confirmed according to the required racket performance rather than using one fixed specification for every project.

Carbon Fiber vs. Graphite Tennis Racket

The terms carbon fiber tennis racket en graphite tennis racket are often used interchangeably, but the actual performance depends more on the composite construction than the marketing name.

Material / Term Bouw OEM Consideration
Carbon Fiber Tennis Racket Carbon fiber reinforcement with resin matrix Fiber grade, orientation and laminate thickness can be engineered
Graphite Tennis Racket Usually another industry term for a carbon-based composite racket Actual carbon content and layup should be confirmed
Graphite Composite Tennis Racket Carbon/graphite combined with fiberglass or other reinforcement Useful when balancing cost, stiffness and impact behavior
Aluminum Tennis Racket Formed or extruded aluminum structure Economical but provides less composite layup flexibility

For OEM development, simply specifying “graphite” or “carbon fiber” is not enough. Fiber orientation, laminate design, resin system, frame geometry and weight distribution all influence the finished racket.

Tennis Racket Manufacturer for OEM Projects

As a carbon fiber product manufacturer, we focus on composite frame development and customization rather than selling standard retail racket models.

Frame Mold Development

We can work from an existing racket sample, 3D drawing or target dimensions to evaluate frame geometry and mold requirements.

Carbon Fiber Layup

Carbon ply orientation, local reinforcement and laminate thickness can be adjusted to control frame weight, stiffness and structural performance.

Surface & Branding

Rackets can be produced with visible carbon fiber, painted surfaces, matte or gloss finishes, custom colors, graphics and private-label branding.

Kwaliteitscontrole

Production can include checks for frame dimensions, weight consistency, surface quality, drilling positions and other project-specific inspection requirements.

Lightweight Carbon Fiber Tennis Racket Engineering Example

For a typical OEM adult racket project, the starting specification may use a 27-inch carbon fiber tennis racket with approximately a 100 in² head, a 16×19 string pattern and a lightweight frame target.

Instead of reducing laminate thickness uniformly, the carbon layup can be adjusted by zone. Higher-load areas around the racket head, throat and handle transition receive appropriate reinforcement, while lower-load areas are optimized to control unnecessary weight.

Prototype rackets can then be evaluated for overall weight, balance, stiffness and appearance before the laminate schedule is finalized for batch production.

This approach provides more control than selecting a generic “carbon fiber” material without defining the actual composite structure.

Veelgestelde vragen

Yes. Many modern performance rackets use carbon-fiber-reinforced composite structures. Carbon fiber provides a high strength-to-weight and stiffness-to-weight ratio, making it suitable for lightweight tennis racket frames where weight, rigidity and structural consistency need to be controlled.

In the tennis industry, “graphite” is commonly used to describe carbon-based composite rackets, so the two terms often overlap. For OEM manufacturing, the more important factors are the actual fiber type, carbon layup, resin system, laminate thickness and frame design.

Ja. Custom made tennis rackets can be developed around your required frame dimensions, head size, weight, balance, carbon layup, string pattern, grip, surface finish and branding. Existing samples or drawings can also be used as the starting point for engineering evaluation.

There is no single correct tennis racket weight. The target depends on racket length, head size, player category and required balance. For an OEM project, weight should therefore be specified together with balance and frame construction.

Carbon fiber tennis racket price depends on mold requirements, carbon fiber grade, laminate complexity, frame geometry, surface finish, graphics, accessories, testing requirements and order quantity. New customized frame designs normally require more development than production from an existing mold.
